Meet Dr. Pitanguy, the 'Golden Scalpel' at a leading Brazilian plastic surgery clinic.

Beauty Parlor in Rio

It's dawn and there are already more than a hundred seemingly healthy women from all walks of life waiting outside the Santa Casa de Misericordia, one of the oldest health clinics in Brazil. Why are they here? They are waiting for the doors to open at the Plastic Surgery Unit run by Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, better known as the 'Golden Scalpel'...

Edna, Jolanda and Teresa, four of would-be clients, tell the story of their four month wait, the appointments and shared dreams. What awaits them at the end of this long journey? Will they find the beauty and happiness they seek?
