In the Guajira Peninsula, the Wayuu safeguard ancestral knowledge through women. They uphold the Sutapaulu tradition, in which girls entering menstruation are kept in strict confinement.

Deep in the Colombian Amazon, the Negedeka family lives in a traditional maloka. In 2020, the two elders guiding the community die due to the pandemic.

Series Description

Twelve Indigenous communities across the Americas open the doors to medicinal rituals they have kept secret for centuries. They share sacred knowledge that, unlike the modern pharmaceutical industry, does not seek to cure disease but to preserve health.
This series offers a provocative perspective on nature, medicine, trance, and our understanding of well-being.
